I just don't care!

Do you ever get to the point where you say “I just don’t care”? When you look around, and so much needs to be done, you realize that you’ll never get it all done. Even if I work hard and get a lot done, I’ll still never finish. I think I just had a lightbulb moment! You never get housework done! Now, I can see this fact as horrible, which will do me no good whatsoever, or I can take it as it is, a fact.

A person can handle just about anything, if you know what you have to do. Here I was thinking that just as I was getting the place looking good, it got dirty again. If I can just understand that homekeeping is a constant activity, not a goal. Just like raising kids. You don’t raise them in a single day, or a single training session. We’re in this for the long stretch. And I think I can handle it.

Is being a homekeeper easy? For some, yes. Enjoyable, too. For some, like me, well, let’s just say I am constantly trying to “tweak” my attitude. God bless Flylady!

MissionaryMom, I visit your blog from time to time and tonight I just finished reading I Just Don't Care and How Do I Get These Kids To Listen? I enjoyed both of them. I love the Sword of the Lord books. Have you ever been able to go to the conferences?
I see you're in Chili. My brother had to take a business trip there a couple of times for FMC Lithium Corporation. He loved it there. Anyway, you're right about homekeeping...it is definitely a constant activity! I'm looking at a pile of laundry right now that I PROMISE was not this much three days ago. And I KNOW I washed half of them three days ago. LOL Anyway, I enjoy your blog. Stop by Thimble Thoughts some time. You will be welcomed there!

HI Happymama! Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, gotta keep that Laundry Monster tamed. I think we're feeding it too much!
No, I have never had the opportunity to go to a Sword conference. I think they are mostly in the South and East, we're from California, with all the Fruit and the Nuts!

I got that book, because it was given to me by our sending pastor who happens to be Ed Dunlop's
younger brother.

God bless!
Rhonda

I know what you mean when it comes to the house work. Most of the time I dont mind that much but sometimes I could scream! There is satisfaction in having a clean home when Husband comes in & when getting up in the morning!

I've just posted the realisation that I don't have to be perfect (in this world!) so I love your post it's come just at the right time for me. Bless you Rhonda for your love of God and your honesty.

I'm not a wife or a mother yet, but I still get frustrated at times whenever the house is a wreck. Its hard to do anything alse when there are dirty pots and pans in the sink and on the counter, a dishwasher waiting to be loaded, 5 dirty wash cloths on the bathroom counter along with a couple cans of hairspray, a bottle of hair gel, a tube of acne cream, toothpaste dots on the mirror, bathroom trash filled to the brim and starting its climb up the wall ( how far will it ge289336649018

SIs. Rhonda,
Blogger is acting awful for me today. The Anonymous comment is me, but I have know idea how it got to be anonymous or why it cut off what I was saying. I can't delete it, but you can. Sorry!

I can definitely relate to this. Household responsibilities never end. Whoever said all we do is sit and watch tv. Well...I guess we could but nothing else would get done. There is satisfaction in coming home to a clean and kept up home after being away. There is also satisfaction in knowing that we are doing our part to contribute to the happiness of our husbands and children. The way a house is kept definitely affects the mood of the home. I don't always keep up with things like I should but I make sure I do the best I can. Sometimes, however, we just tend to take a day and be lazy or relax...besides..it will all be there when we get to it...right?

I am NOT fond of housework. It is not my gifting LOL! I also find the most frustrating part is that it is a constant evolving mess. Clean one part - and the other parts are already getting dirty again. But I agree - if I accept it as fact, it helps. Great analogy of raising kids - very true:)

I am having fun with a new thing I started called Tackle It Tuesday. This is providing mw with some much needed incentive and accountablity. Come join us if you want -it would be great to have you. you can read it about it on my blog.

I am SO with you here! I am leaning on Flylady to keep sane. The hard part for me is that my hubby is more of a perfectionist, and I am . . .well, not. So then also I'm almost daily, if not daily doing "ministry" things and I was just thinking - where do we draw the line? When you're one of the FEW that can help? *sigh* Yup, God bless Flylady!

Hi. I am out searching for the latest info on acne medicine and found your site. I am doing some research for a ratings & reviews site. Although this wasn't exactly what I am looking for, it caught my attention. I'm glad I checked it out anyway - good posts. If you want, you can check out the site I am writing for at http://www.ReviewPlace.com
