Another If

IF I am afraid to speak the truth, lest I lose affection, or lest the one concerned should say, "You do not understand, " or because I fear to lose my reputation for kindness; if I put my own good name before other's highest good, then I know nothing of Cavary's Love

Ouch!!

This one got me good....I am a pleaser and wish for people to like me. It's a hard thing for me to balance. I used to be to forthright with my opinions so I've tried to back off with it....but I don't want to be afraid to speak truth!

Such a hard thing for me.

Well, this is certainly one area I have not had a problem with...Although I have had a problem in this area. (HUH?) What I mean is, I have no problem telling the truth, but sometimes too bluntly. I really have to pull the reins on my tongue sometimes.

I just watned to share this verse. I have a daily verse on my blog and I read it earlier, but it didn't have an effect on me until AFTER I had read your post and I had read the verse again.

Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that lvoe it shall eat the fruit thereof."

Yep, me too I'm a people pleaser! I was worried that my idol post might make people think I was "holier than thou" (NOT my intention of course, lol) but it's only 'cos I'm worried what people will think. Doh! I have a lot to learn :o)
