I am a fairly competent person in a variety of situations. Afterm all, a woman must do what a woman must do.
But lately I have felt impressed by the Holy Spirit to do some door-to-door evangelism and that is something I do not do well at all. I love talking about God to people who are interested, but it is another story when on a "cold call" I hate those. I feel uncomfortable and uneasy. But I am also faced with the fact that it is likely that most people here will not just "show up" on my front doorstep, demanding to hear about Christ. Someone must take the first step, and it looks like it must be me. I have assembled a group of like-minded women. We are going to go over some tips from "The Way of the Master", and we are all going to step out of our comfort zone and spread the Gospel.
Many will probably take our tract and shut the door, but maybe, just maybe, some person will respond to the moving of the Holy Spirit. They may not make a desicion to trust Christ todya, but maybe someday, maybe soon.
Pray for us.
Pray for the Lost.

You are very right, Rhonda. Christ is the ultimate example of what He wanted us to be. He didn't JUST wait for sinners to come to Him...He went out to them. There are those who are against door-to-door evangelism, but as Curtis Hutson once said, "No one has ever come up to me and said, 'Why you look so much like Jesus, I want to be saved." Yes, they may see Jesus in us and wonder what we have, but "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the WORD of God." Lifestyle evangelism does not work by itself. We must tell them.

I can perfectly understand your fear of going door to door - I have the same fear. But I've learned to pray for courage before we go out, and I usually have a great time out. My natural personality is one that shrinks back from invading someone's space - I hate to inconvenience someone, such as knocking on their door. I made a horrible Mary Kay and Tupperware salesperson! The key was that I had to sell to someone who didn't want what I had to offer. And many times we're "selling" what people don't want (not literally selling), and my natural tendency is to not want to bother people. But we're commanded to go, so I go, and let the Lord take care of the rest.
All that to say - good for you for doing what the Lord has commanded! He will bless you for it and help you have the courage you need!

I'm sorry that it has been so long since I've been by here! I'll try to do better!
I too feel "uncomfortable" at times when out soul winning door to door. I'm a pretty shy person anyway and that's probably one reason. Whatever the reason may be, its still no excuse for me to want to back out on presenting the gospel to others when out soul winning. When God gives us a command to do something, I know He'll give us what we need to fulfill it!
